Just pulled in and spotted this hidden treasure. I hope Yakima supports this local business. I am going to try the BLT.

You are sitting in Yakima’s original Airport Terminal built by Northwest Airlines in 1934. The Airlines started out flying the twin engine Lockheed Zephyr Model 14H.

In 1939, Northwest expanded and put its first Douglas DC-3 into service. The twin engine workhorse could carry 21 passengers and had a cruise speed of 140 mph.

Passengers have traveled from Yakima out of this very building we stand in today.

We are excited to restore the history of the building and look forward to attracting pilots from near and far to YKM. Locals can now enjoy watching planes while enjoying our deck or choosing a picnic box to eat in the viewing area. #growyakimaairport
